Spreadsheet reconciliation services

Two reports.
One explanation
you can follow.

When Excel or CSV exports disagree, I help small teams find missing records, duplicate identifiers, and reporting differences—then turn the checks into a useful handover.

When this helps

The total is different.
The next question is why.

A mismatch can come from the data, the reporting rules, or the way a measure is counted. The work starts by identifying which question you need answered.

01

Shipments and claims

Which reported serial numbers appear in the shipment export? How many distinct units match, and which entries need investigation?

02

Returns and credit trackers

Which records are missing a status or closure date? Which identifiers or amounts differ between the agreed exports?

03

Recurring operational reports

Which cleanup steps keep repeating? Can the comparison be made clearer and easier to run again in Excel or Power Query?

What you receive

Visible checks.
A usable result.

The exact output is agreed before work starts. A focused reconciliation can include:

  1. A checked summary

Totals and percentages with their definitions, counting rules, and source period explained.

  2. An exception list

Missing, repeated, or conflicting records, with original identifiers preserved so your team can follow up.

  3. The comparison and its rules

An agreed workbook or report, with the matching and cleanup steps documented.

  4. A short walkthrough

A handover explaining the result and open questions, plus one revision within the agreed scope.

How a project starts

Agree on what “matching” means.

  1. 01 / DESCRIBE

    Start with the discrepancy.

Tell me which reports should agree, what differs, and the decision you need to make.

  2. 02 / SCOPE

    Review a suitable sample.

We confirm the source period, identifiers, expected volume, rules, deliverables, timing, and fixed price.

  3. 03 / CHECK

    Work through the exceptions.

I prepare the agreed comparison and walk you through the checked result and remaining questions.

Larger dashboards, additional files, new system connections, recurring support, and ongoing automation are scoped and quoted separately.

Before we start

A few practical details.

Do I need Power BI?

No. A focused comparison may be best handled in Excel or Power Query. We choose the output around the question and your team's workflow.

Can you connect directly to our systems?

The starting project is scoped around agreed exports. Direct system access, licensing, permissions, and new connections need a separate review and quote.

Does an unmatched record mean a claim is invalid?

No. It identifies a question to investigate. Different source periods, replacements, alternate identifiers, or incomplete exports may explain a missing match.

What does the starting price include?

From $250 applies to one focused reporting problem with an agreed checked output, exception list, walkthrough, and one revision within scope. The fixed quote depends on the files, rules, and complexity.

Let’s define the problem

What should agree,
and what doesn’t?

Tell me which reports you use, what differs, and what you need to understand. A short description is enough to begin; we can agree on a suitable sample next.
